About Us

The Artists’ Gallery of Ellicott City is an artist-owned gallery on Main Street in historic Ellicott City, Maryland. Artwork for sale includes ceramics, wood turning, inlaid wood, kilnformed glass, paintings, photography, collage, and digital illustration. The gallery is staffed by the represented artists, so you’ll run into someone special on every visit!

We rotate our exhibits monthly, with dedicated shows featuring a specific artist seven times a year. In the summer, we run an annual juried exhibit to showcase other local artists.

Our History

In 1994, Columbia, Maryland was on the hunt for a venue to showcase local artists. Jim Rouse, then CEO of the Rouse Company, and his wife Patty were supporters of the arts and loved the idea of an art venue in downtown Columbia. The Rouse Company designed a small gallery space in the lobby of the American City Building to support the fine arts in Columbia, and the Artists’ Gallery was formally established on June 1,1995. We moved to historic Ellicott City in 2016.
